Das "Konus-Steck-System"

The "Cone plug system"

BESCHREIBUNG:

SPECIFICATION:
Anton Schwarzkopf developed this plug-system to ease up the build-up and dismantling of a ride. A genious and well thought idea which also, beside the fast mounting, guaranties a perfect fitting of the parts. The number of supports is reduced compared to older systems and long winded screwings are reduced to a minimum. The numbered connections are secured by bolts and cotter pins. The system was introduced on the very first "Looping Star" rollercoaster, purchased by the german showmen companies Bruch / Kinzler in 1978.

A typical loop of the boxbeam-type consists of two ramps, two supports, three further pieces of track forming the upper circle and two container-plates which, used as bottom, give a solid stand. Once the container-plates are fixed, it takes not long to complete a loop. While on the ground, the upper circle is mounted together and then set right on top of the ramps by a crane. The transportable loop, as shown on the photos, differs to the stationary model. Here, the parts are fixed by bolts and splints while the park version has to be screwed together.
